One of Konami game, Pro Evolution Soccer series were always be my favorite game to play. Even the original game have less licensed team than its rival, EA's FIFA series, in my opinion PES is more fun. The game-play and the classic feature like Master League are its fans favorite aspects.
Konami will launch next series of PES on September / October 2013. PES 2014 will use a modified version of Fox Engine, developed by Kojima Productions. Key features of the new engine, besides much improved graphics, include all new physics and animation engines. The engine for PES 2014 will be using mainly for the graphics, according to Konami. All ingame 3D objects receive a major overhaul and are said to look very close to real life counterparts.
Kits are now separated from player models which means they they hang from the players and flow. Faces, while using only 2000 polygons, are looking very realistic thanks to shading and texture. Thanks to Pro Evolution Soccer's new Engine, snow will return to the weather selection.
But IMO, the new graphic engine is not only the reason why the fans will love PES more. Game play is more important than graphics.
The Goalkeepers and referees AI are the game's aspects Konami needs to overhaul completely as they are completely flops in PES 2013. It makes me furious when the AI defender never get a straight red card (or perhaps in my experience they never get a double yellow card). or when the referee give me a yellow card when the AI attacker trip accidentally.
The Goalkeeper need more overhaul, they seem too careless to go forward when the AI attack.
I also would like to see another improvement in tactical precision. For example when playing against Barcelona, it would be more realistic to see they try to get more ball possession or try to press my player when they loss the ball. Also sometime the AI's using to much tricky dribble, but in reality the trick is seldom used.
Master League mode as one of my favorite feature would need more improvement. It will be great to be able to change club in the end of season. I used to play ML until 12 seasons, I think would be able to break Sir Alex Ferguson's record to play more 10 seasons in same team. How about regenerate retired player instead of "reborn" player? it would be more realistic to see that in the next series.
Yeah, perhaps my idea was more like a combination between PES and Football Manager, but I think it's important to see that in world's best football game.
